Free Canva or Canva Pro™?

I believe that as spiritual business owners, we should all have the freedom to creatively express ourselves without being reliant on professional designers and developers & complex design tools.

Creating dependancy in a energy exchange dynamic feels off to me and has no place in the new world we’re seeing evolve. Much like the dependancy seen in the old-school healthcare system, I’m advocating for empowered creative expression, but for that we need the knowledge and the tools.

Design software & technology advances have now made it uber-easy for us to access the tools we need to make really beautiful art and design. Not only is it more affordable than the professional design suites, it’s INCREDIBLY user-friendly making it the obvious choice for emerging spiritual mentors and small business owners when creating social media and website graphics.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Photoshop and the Adobe suite and use it often to create my art BUT….. for the average mortal, it’s incredibly tricky to master and nobody has the time for that.

Enter Canva Pro.

(before we go on, I just want to say that this article does contain an affiliate link for Canva but I never recommend anything unless I use it in my own practice and I’m a complete fan and love to share tools that I know you’ll benefit hugely from using!)

Most of us are pretty familiar with the free version of Canva and I imagine most of us already use it on a regular basis to create social media posts.

However, if you’re looking to get creative (and maybe even try out Digital Collage) and have maximum flexibility in your social AND website graphic creation, then Canva Pro is for YOU!

Why Pay for Canva?

That’s a very good question if you’re new to working for yourself and looking to limit your out-goings.

However, Canva Pro offers some great extras that I’ve personally found invaluable for creative art-making and design!

If you’re looking to start experimenting with digital collage, you’re going to need to be able to do the following:

1) “Cut out” images from their background

2) Have the flexibility to position your cuts outs anywhere on your Canvas

Now in the beginning, you might not yet have the budget for the more flexible design tools like Pro-create and Photoshop so Canva is the perfect starter design tool. The only problem is Free Canva doesn’t allow you to separate the images from their background.

You can see here you gets tons more options and resources in the Canva Pro version which is great for creating more of your own collage inspired graphics!

Canva Pro is the by far the most versatile design tool for exploring both more expressive and art-based graphics when you’re first strating out. If you fancy testing out the extras of the paid version, you can do so, absolutely free for up to 30 days! I mean as a paid for tool, it’s still uber-afforadable at €11.99 but you might as well take advantage of the full package for those 30 days!
